November 2024 - Name the Gritter Competition for pupils at St John the Baptist Primary School, Uddingston

On Friday 29th November 2024, Scottish Roads Partnership's Liaison Officer Martin Cochrane and Gritter driver Stewart Croly (Jnr) visited St John the Baptist Primary School in Uddingston with a new gritter and snow plough. They provided an information input to nursery children and P1 to P7 kids (339 in number, plus 40 young nursery children) in relation to the gritter, salt and Winter Service of the trunk roads network. After viewing the Traffic Scotland Gritter tracker website with their teachers, the children of the school agreed to participate, in a ‘Name the Gritter’ competition, for the gritter that operates on the adjacent M74 motorway. The winner from the school will receiving a prize from SRP & their contractor Amey.
