August 2024 - TRISS Operative spends social impact day helping at annual fair day.
Social Value – Residents Annual Fair Day Bellshill – Saturday 03rd August 2024
On Saturday 03rd August 2024, a TRISS Operative from the M8DBFO Contract, John Melrose, used a social impact day (SID) to attend a resident’s annual fair day for the local families of the Braehead & Orbiston areas of Bellshill. John spent the whole day assisting with setting up & removing tents, stalls, bouncy castles, gazebos and various other displays and amusements on a grass park area. John remained at the event to assist with managing the event and cleaning up the grassland afterwards.
John states – ‘the children and parents from the local area attended the event in good numbers and had a great day enjoying the atmosphere and entertainment provided. The organisers raise funds to help pay for other events in the local community e.g. tea/coffee mornings at the Community Centre for pensioners etc. Some photographs of John’s labour on the day are shown below in a collage.
